Labscope iPad App Slow after IOS 12 Update

Two of our iPads were updated to IOS 12.0.1 and now the LabScope app is VERY slow displaying the video feed. We are seeing a ~30 lag / frame rate from the camera to the app. We are not seeing any network issues or problems with other apps on the iPads. Other iPads that have not been updated are still working fine.

Has anyone else seen this and is this something Zeiss is working on fixing yet?

    Hi,

Thanks for the reply. Is there any ETA on when this will be available?

Also, is there any plan to avoid compatibility issues in future IOS updates? We instructed our users not to update the IOS, but inevitably a couple went ahead and did it anyway. Luckily this time of year it didn't cause too many problems for us, but if it happened in the middle of a course or workshop it would be a major issue.

    Hello,
We are planning to release the newest version before the end of this month.

For your second question, I think there is no way for us to predict what Apple changes on SDK of newest iOS version. The only thing we can do is to download the beta versions of newest iOS and test our apps on them. And after Apple releases the official iOS version, we will also try to deliver a new version to deal with compatible issues. That's our plan for compatibility issues. Anyway, the most effective way is still to warn user not to update their iOS version so quickly.

We just downloaded and installed the updated app. This seems to fix the lag problem. Thanks for your help.

We are having the same issue with the iPhone app. Has that been updated yet to address the lagging issue?

    Hi,

You can update the Labscope to the latest version (v2.8.1).
