Two teachers in class

Post by user-3750 »

Please help with the following regarding labscope and labscope teacher:
  1. When multiple teachers have logged in, the apps stores that memory and saves it as if the class is always running and when you sign in again as a teacher (maybe the following day) you can only join a classroom as it picks up that the teacher is already running a class and then there’s limited control functionality as you can’t operate anything and an error or timeout appears when you want to finish class or block iPad.
  2. The snap delay if one iPad snaps when multiple systems are connected, we all have to wait for that one to finish before another snap can be taken with another iPad, why is that?
  3. When wanting to connect 2 different labs at the same time to run the class concurrently, which is the best SMART TV to use and how will it connect as it can’t download the labscope app.

Hi Leonard,

1. In Labscope Teacher, we allow multiple teachers in one class. However, only the first teacher who starts the class can finish the class. The following teacher can only join the class. But all the teachers have same functions in class.
2. In the case you described, I think the root cause is that you didn't finish the class. The connection is lost somehow because you get some timeout error.
3. I assume that you connect a lot of Labscope to one camera. Since the snapping will spend a large resource both in network and camera, we block the snapping in all other connected camera. Only after the snapping finish, the others can snap. As a workaround, you can use "Fast Snap" mode that all connected camera can snap.
4. The recommended TV for iPad is Apple TV. You don't need to install Labscope. You can project your iPad screen to the TV.

Thanks for the response team, very informative.

Last question, can we use the apple TV on it's own with the Labscope app, without any iPads?

Dear Support team

Thank you for the assistance, thing is they want to run two separate classes at the same time hence they want dual connectivity and it doesn’t seem likely with screening from the iPad because it can only stream to one screen at a time.

Please assist with the right solution.

Dear Leonard,

It is supported in Labscope Teacher to run two classes simultaneously. However, you should make sure that the microscope only belongs to one class, otherwise the class can't be started.

One AppleTV can only project one iPad's screen. I don't fully understand the way you want to do. If you want to project two iPad at the same time, you need 2 Apple TVs and 2 projectors. Or you can easily switch from one iPad to another.
