Axiocam 208 Not Connecting to WiFi directly

Post by user-7106 »

Hi, I have a sittuation where a client needs to connect to the camera without a router, I know Axiocam 208 can do this via an USB WiFi adapter. But when i connected one to the USB Hub, the "Connect to WLAN" menu doesn't appear.
I know the USB adapter works, but it seems the camera does not recognize the drivers, or maybe something else?

If this is not the place for this question may somebody contact me via Email? I really need a quick answer to this since it's an offer for a tender.

Thanks

Dear Luciano,

which WiFi USB Stick do you have?
You have to know that only the stick works which are sold by Zeiss.
The order number for the WiFi stick with USB C to A adapter is 426570-9110-000.

I have a TP-LinkWN823N.
I suppose it has something to do with the extension of the drivers. Because it's .rar and not .tar, am I right?

I think you are right.
But at the moment we know no other USB Wi-Fi dongle which is working.
Please order the recommended one. This one is tested.

Thanks!

Just to make sure then, this one is plug and use right?

Would I be able to open the web browser of the Camera (IP addres) and use the camera, the OSD and all it functions on an ANDROID phone using Chrome Browser?

We're also offering Labscope and ZEN, but our customer insists on having the possibility of using this other conection option and labscope for their iOS devices.

Thanks!

Dear Luciano,

it does not support to use a browser to open OSD. Only the screen method will work.

To your initial question:
Ist is also possible to connect the camera via Ethernet cable to a desktop PC.
Please see Thread "Labscope 3.0 & Axiolab 5 encoded reflector turret".

Dear Luciano,

the OS Android is right now not supported.
Under Android there is no App which can access the camera.
