Shading reference from tile image

Post by Julien Toquant »

Hi,

I found out that since ZEN core 3.3, the IP function "Shading reference from tile image" is available in the macro environment (although not available as an IP function in ZEN core itself):

# Zen.Processing.Adjust.ShadingReferenceFromTileImage(image, False, False, True, 1, True, 100, False)

It works well but is unfortunately not available in previous ZEN Core versions.
Would it be possible to use this function in older ZEN Core versions with some kind of manipulation?

Thank you for your help.

Hello Julien Toquant,

in older versions of Zen Core advanced acquisition features like tiles etc. where missing to keep the complexity of Zen Core minimalistic. Therefore, functions referencing these aspects where not needed.

As time went by a lot of additional features like tiles etc. had to be integrated in Zen Core so it made sense to also supply functions like ShadingReferenceFromTileImage.

When a function like ShadingReferenceFromTileImage is not in the standard feature set it is not clear if it is ‘somewhere’ in the software and in addition it has not been tested in the context of Zen Core.

I really think that updating the software is the ‘cheapest’ way to solve the problem.
