Object field Smartzoom

Post by user-4053 »

CMOS Sensor

5,5µm pixel size
1600 x 5,5 µm = 8,8 mm active sensor width
1200 x 5,5 µm = 6,6 mm active sensor height
11 mm active sensor diagonal

Optical Zoom

0.5x – 5x optical zoom range

Objective lens

0.56x magnification of objective lens
1.67x magnification of objective lens
5x magnification of objective lens

Object Field

0.5x Objective Lens:

Horizontal: 8,8 mm / 0.5 / 0.56 = 31,43 mm
Vertical: 6,6 mm / 0.5 / 0.56 = 23,57 mm

Horizontal: 8,8 mm / 5 / 0.56 = 3,14 mm
Vertical: 6,6 mm / 5 / 0.56 = 2,36 mm

1,6x Objective Lens:

Horizontal: 8,8 mm / 0.5 / 1.67 = 10,54 mm
Vertical: 6,6 mm / 0.5 / 1.67 = 7,90 mm

Horizontal: 8,8 mm / 5 / 1.67 = 1,05 mm
Vertical: 6,6 mm / 5 / 1.67 = 0,79 mm

5x Objective Lens:

Horizontal: 8,8 mm / 0.5 / 5 = 3,52 mm
Vertical: 6,6 mm / 0.5 / 5 = 2,64 mm

Horizontal: 8,8 mm / 5 / 5 = 0,35 mm
Vertical: 6,6 mm / 5 / 5 = 0,26 mm

Maximum Field of view

Object field diagonal for minimal magnification with 0.5x objective lens is:
11 mm / 0.5 / 0.57 = 38,6 mm

The value of 40 mm (stated in the brochure) is the max. useful diameter of the 0.5x objective lens. Anyway we use only 38,6 mm.
