We are having issues with an Axiocam 208 (SN: 5321000846) and getting it connected to Wi-Fi. Our
goal is to have the camera and a Windows device connected to the same Wi-Fi network so that we
can use the camera in the Labscope software. We are using the Zeiss Wi-Fi-USB adapter, which is
plugged into the included 4-port USB hub, which is in turn connected to the Axiocam’s USB-C port.
However, when both are connected to the network, the camera does not show up in Labscope and
cannot be manually added. Configuring the camera Wi-Fi as an access point works, but this is not
suitable for our environment as the Windows devices need to be able to connect to the camera as
well as our school network/internet. I’ve been working with our central IT department’s networking
team, and what they’re finding is that the camera is only partially connecting to the network. What’s
happening is:
Device associates to AP.
Device requests and receives IP address via DHCP over wireless.
Device authenticates via registered MAC address and is permitted access to the network by
the authentication server. (The device also reports its IP address to the authentication server.)
Device does not pass IP address to wireless controller (Aruba 7220), which manages network
traffic.
Device has no network connectivity, although it remains associated to the AP/controller.
When I plug the 4-port USB-C hub with Wi-Fi adapter attached into my laptop’s USB-C port, I am
able to use it to connect to the same network fully and without issue, so the issue seems to be
specific to the camera and not the Wi-Fi dongle. Is this something that you have seen before, and do
you have any suggested solutions?

have you switched to WLAN mode in the camera settings? You can use either AP mode or WLAN mode.

Make sure that the camera is configured to connect to the Wi-Fi network properly. Verify settings such as network name (SSID), password, and any other network configuration.

Since the device fails to pass its IP address to the Aruba controller, something might be amiss in the controller's configuration. Could you check if the controller has specific restrictions on DHCP leases or filtering based on MAC addresses?

As the device is unable to transmit its IP address to the Aruba controller, there may be an issue in the controller's configuration. Could you please verify whether the controller imposes any restrictions on DHCP leases or employs filtering based on MAC addresses?

There can be a problem with the configuration of the Aruba controller if the device can't send its IP address to it. Can you confirm if the controller uses MAC address filtering or sets restrictions on DHCP leases?
